When spring comes, a lot of individuals want to try out gardening. Make sure that you do this as soon as spring comes so that before winter sets in, everything is ready.

If you want to be successful in organic gardening, you should give particular attention to the soil you’re using. For instance, last season you planted some plants on the soil and for some reason, the plants were not as healthy as you expected. This new season, you should test the soil first so that you can make the necessary amendments. After the soil changes, you can now plant new plants.

You can make the soil fertile by using a spade or by plowing and tilling. When the soil is aerated, soil microbes are activated as well as other organic matters. Allow the soil to dry before planting. How can you tell if the soil is dry or wet? Take a handful of it and form a small ball. When the soil is wet, the ball will stick together. Soil with a lot of clods is not good and it will not give you healthy plants. Observe your soil. What season does your garden soil become dry? Some soils are dry during fall but some soils are already dry by spring. Choose the season when the soil is dry enough.

For instance, when the soil is dry during fall, you can start preparing the gardening area when spring comes. It involves little work since you’re just preparing the soil for planting. After that, you need to feed the garden soil with compost. The soil structure is a great consideration when planting. It should be able to retain moisture, rich in humus, and it drains well. There is a time to fee the soil and there is a time to feed the plants. Don’t worry if you’ve placed a lot of fertilizers because the plants will only consume the adequate amount and the rest will evaporate or get diluted. To ensure plant nutrition, the soil should be rich in nutrients.

Your new plants will surely love the nutrient-rich garden soil. Start putting compost now. This is the secret to organic gardening. To ensure a harmonious relationship with nature, consider organic gardening. Start preparing your garden soil and choose the appropriate plants for it. Soon you will see the fruits of your labor. Organic gardening is great because there are no chemicals involved.
