Want to do your part to save the environment and save money on your water bill every month? With Rain Barrels from Cool Garden Things you can do just that. The idea behind rain barrels is a simple one: when rain falls on your roof it runs down your gutter and builds up in the high capacity barrel at the end of the spout. The attached hose sprays all natural, 100% recycled rain water without wasting the city water for which you pay. The barrel has a debris screen to keep unwanted bugs and leaves out, ensuring both clean water and a clean barrel. The rain barrels can even be linked in order to expand capacity, using the included simple linking kit.

Rain barrels can be very helpful in the drier parts of the country, especially if the area you live in experiences droughts. Instead of letting water from your gutters fall on a small patch of grass, you can make us of perfectly good water to nurish your garden. Putting a rain

Understanding the level of organic matter in your topsoil’s texture will determine the level of nutrients that will make your vegetation grow better. Your topsoil’s texture should resemble a crumbling feel that’s not sticky, but is easy to break up and feels damp to the touch proving that it has water retention qualities.

Adding organic matter to the soil is one way to improve the texture of the topsoil should the

Analyze the space you have and decide what size of play equipment you can install in that area. This is the first thing you have to do before you can draw out a plan where to put everything. Safety should always be the first consideration in your plans.

Decide whether you are going to have a sand pit, swings and side, pool, playhouse and/or a children’s garden included in your plan.
